Sara Krieger is a diverse vocal performer whose musical proficiency covers a wide range. While operating from a traditional standard jazz base, her influences include Brazilian and Latin music, with a background that encompasses Musical Theater and R&B. As a singer, Sara has worked in every aspect of the music business--from Off-Broadway to Records, Jingles, Concert Halls, Clubs and Cabaret Rooms. She has been nominated by the Concert and Cabaret Arts as "Best Female Vocalist" and as "Entertainer of the Year". For four years, Sara was a member of the popular vocal jazz recording group "New York Voices", with which she toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, playing such renown venues as Carnegie Hall (with Take 6) and The Blue Note, both here and abroad. Sara recorded and was featured as a singer and co-writer on several albums with the Voices for GRP Records, which continue to receive radio play. While with the Voices, she also had the honor of working with such luminaries as Dave Grusin, Patty Austin and Branford Marsales, as well as David Byrne for whom she was a featured vocalist in his New York concert premiere of "the Forest" at Town Hall. Sara has been reviewed by virtually every major publication including the New York Times and Variety and has been described as "A stunning, almost bone chilling vocalist". Sara has also been the featured subject of the P.M. Magazine TV news program "In Search of the Best Singers in New York." |
